Artvin Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant were constructed over Çoruh River, 20 km southwest of Artvin. They have 332 MW power installed and an average annual production of 1 billion kWh.
Part of the Çoruh catchment basin hydroelectric energy production project, Artvin Dam and HEPP Project are among 10 power plants and impoundments that will be constructed over Çoruh. Two of those projects have been realized in recent years and remain active.
Construction of Artvin Dam and HEPP Project began in 2011 and the facilities were fully functional at the beginning of 2016.
