Boyabat Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant were constructed over the Kızılırmak River, 180 km away from Samsun and150 km away from Sinop. With 513 MW of power installed and an average annual production of 1.5 billion kWh, the dam takes up a 6.000 ha surface area, making it the largest dam and HEPP project owned by a private sector entity.
One of the 24 power plants and impoundments planned over the Kızılırmak, Boyabat Dam and HEPP Project is among only seven projects that have been realized in recent years. They remain active after beginning activities in December 2012. For more information click here.
